October 22, 2006 A new leaf

After some discussion with a friend that has an amazing blog, I have decided I have gotten a little lazy and need to try to blog more about the day to day things Kendall is doing, not just the bigger places and things we have been up to lately. I have been keeping those things in a private journal but maybe the family and friends that check our blog would also like to know the little things. Sooo.....Kendall is becoming more and more independent every day. She talks sooo much it is amazing. She has entered the thousand question phase! We were watching Lion King 2 last weekend and she asked what EVERY animal in the movie was, EVERY time they appeared on the screen! Do you realize how many animals are in that movie?!! Needless to say, I lost count. She is so funny, I just have to laugh at the things she does and says. I'm in big trouble when it's time to keep a serious face in front of her! Other times when she says certain words, I try not to laugh so she doesn't think I'm laughing at her, but again, that is not an easy task! Her current words that come to mind are chocolate and elevator. Chocolate comes out more like cock- a-lat and elevator sounds more like el-e-gagor. I ask her to repeat those over and over just so I can hear her say them! We are having a blast watching her grow but it is going by way to fast! I still can't believe she is already two!

Huber's Pumpkin Patch October 8, 2006

We went to the Pumpkin Patch today, it was a beautiful day, perfect weather. Kendall was not very interested in the pumpkins but really liked the ride on the wagon to and from the patch. While we were looking for the perfect pumpkin in the patch, Kendall did not want to hold Mommy or Grandma's hand even after falling several times on the uneven ground so of course, the next fall was from her slipping in slimy rotten pumpkin guts! GROSS!!!! She was not at all happy about that! Luckily, Mommy had planned for such an occurrance and brought her a change of clothes. After the patch we went to the petting zoo and rode on a little wagon out to feed the goats. That was a hit too! There were several goats that were very gentle and would carefully nibble out of their hands! That was a great time! We also went to feed the ducks but there were soooo many people out there that day that they were all full! They usually dive for the food and all rush for it, pecking at each other but today they would just watch it fall so that wasn't quite as exciting as the last time we fed the ducks there, maybe next time they will be hungry again!

October 1, 2006 Horseback riding

Today was Kendall's second time riding. She loved it!!! She was soooo excited. We met Carrie & Julia at Sandy's barn for a nice visit and ride. The girls had a ball!

We went around and visited each horse and then they rode Dancer. After they each had a turn around the barn we put Dancer back in her stall and Sandy turned out all of the horses. What fun as they all came charging out and took off across the field. Kendall and Julia ran through the tall grass (almost waist high to them) to climb on the fence and watch the horses roll in the sunshine. What a great visit! We will have to do that again soon!
