Kendall has been doing very well with the potty training. She had a minor setback with some miscommunication with a few of her teachers at school. After that first week or so the morning teachers were not sending her to go potty because she was wearing a pull up, apparently it is normally their policy to only potty train the kids wearing panties, not pull ups. No one told me that was the case until after a week or so I asked what was going on with her having accidents in the morning. So she went to panties a couple of weeks ago and has been doing very well. She has an accident here and there but she is really getting the hang of it! She no longer wants to wear the pull ups at all and it is a fight to get her in a diaper at bedtime. She is still young and has a FULL diaper every morning so she is just not quite ready to move to pull ups at night. Soon she will be all grown up!
We have still been going out to ride every few weeks, especially whenever the crazy weather is so warm, it has really been nice to be out at the barn and take advantage of it. She absolutely LOVES to ride. Every night she still asks about going out to ride when I tuck her in bed. Soon we will have to put her in a leadline class!
Kendall, Alex, & Grandma went to Alex's house to make cookie trees for Santa a few days before Christmas. They had a ball! Kendall really enjoyed rolling out the dough. She was really good at it! Before they were finished they were all covered in flour, including the dog!
She had a great Christmas! She really got into the opening presents this year. Although, leading up to Christmas she did not want to talk about Santa Claus. Evertime I brought it up and tried to explain how it all worked, or asked what she wanted Santa to bring her she would get a scowl on her face and change the subject. At first I thought she didn't really realize and it was just a coincidence that she changed the subject but she did it every time I brought up Santa! She's just a little to young to get the concept quite yet but what a smart girl to try and change the subject! That just truly amazed me!
Mama J spent the night so Christmas morning we all went into the living room to see what Santa had brought. She got a little excited but after opening just a few gifts she wanted to pick out a movie to watch, we had to keep calling her back to open her gifts and see the others Santa had left open under the tree. After we were finished with our Christmas morning we all went to Grandma and Pepaw's for Christmas there and brunch. She really got into opening there! After we ate and opened all the gifts, Daddy had to go to work and Mama J had others to visit so Kendall and I went home for a nap to rest up for Christmas with Grammie and Paw Paw that evening. Kendall and Delaney had a ball opening their "just alike" gifts and playing with them. Lots of dress up and princess stuff, Kendall's favorite!
